Things I'm Excited to do in Canada #1
As many of you may know I'm going home for a vacation in just over a month! I'm so excited to see me friends and family, and to see my home town again. I though I'd share some of the unique things I plan to do when I go home!
I think the thing I'm most excited about (besides seeing my friends and family) is eating my grandmother's cooking! In Newfoundland we have a tradition of eating a special "cooked dinner" on Sunday's (or special days). It's not called "cooked dinner" because we cook it, that wouldn't make it anything special. It's a special traditional meal, similar to an American Thanksgiving dinner.
Here's an example, it looks a lot like my grandmother makes!

It looks a little plain, but it's one of my favorite things to eat! You usually find turkey, potatoes, carrots, turnip, parsnip, peas pudding, dressing (other wise known as stuffing), salt beef, and lots and lost of gravy. A lot of time, effort, and love goes into making a cooked dinner, so it's a wonderful meal meant to be shared with family and friends. We usually eat it with mustard pickles and pickled beets in my house!

I can't wait to visit my grandmothers house and eat a traditional cooked dinner together with my family, that's my idea of paradise!
