My Favorite Movie/Book Series

More than 6 years ago I read a book series known as the Hunger Games. This book series wasn't so popular when I began reading it, but very quickly grew into popularity. In all honesty, It took me a while to get through the first book because the grammar is absolutely horrid, but I looked past it to the story behind it and fell in love. The Hunger Games later became movies, the last of those coming to theaters this November. I am very happy about the movies because they kept them so close to the books. These stories are about great trials given the people of Panem by The Capitol. The Capitol is the leading body of people in the new nation and it has 13 districts outside of The Capitol. The Capitol uses these districts for their resources without caring about the people. District 13 rebelled against The Capitol and was practically destroyed after which point the capitol commanded that each year their would be "Games to the death" known as the Hunger Games. These games are set up very much like a gladiator style, only the arena is much larger and much more challenging to overcome. I love this story because it is about fighting for the freedom of your nation. These books/films have impacted so many cultures in the world, giving them strength to fight their corrupt government/government leaders, and the people have won. It's amazing how such a simple thing as a book can impact the globe on the scale that it has. I am very excited to be able to watch the final installment of the film series this November 22, 2015. If you have never seen The Hunger Games, I recommend watching the movies. They are empowering.
Thank you for reading,
Leigh
