My home state has been pounded by rain this month! Texas has had historic rainfall, we have never, in the history of records in Texas, had this much rain! One river rose 23 feet in an hour! As you can imagine this has caused flash floods all over but again Texas has never issued an emergency disaster declaration until 2 days ago and we have never seen so many counties under Flash Flood Warnings! I have called my family back home to make sure they are fine but some people are not as fortunate. Many people think, "Oh it's just a little water." Those people are the ones that end up needing rescue. While most of this is bad not one Texan will tell you that all of this rain is a bad thing. We had been in a bad drought for years. Towns and cities were shut down because there was no water. Our reservoirs and lakes were dangerously low but not they are filling back up! Still, people need to be careful.
