The original author of this quote is in dispute but the quote itself is so full of wisdom that it truly doesn't matter who said it, it only matters that it was said. We all worry so much about things we did in the past or what we do tomorrow that we lose our today, our now. I see people every day who are so consumed with things they have to get done for the next day or worrying about things outside of their control that they miss the beauty and wonder that surrounds them every day. When I first heard the quote stated above it was in a kids movie named Kung Fu Panda. In this movie there is a character that simply spouts profound wisdom nearly every time he speaks. I fell in love with his way of thinking. In one scene the character states that we cannot complete our destiny if we do not give up the illusion of control. We are all so stuck in our own little worlds now a days that we may miss significant things. Recently, I have even started banning headphones from my day to day because when I wear them I ignore everything around me and may miss something important. As you start your day try to remember that now is what is important, the choices you make as you make them. Also remember that you cannot control anything. Just let everything go and choose to be happy and live life to the fullest!
