Buying my first Yukata
This weekend I made a trip to Yumetown and was delighted to see a store that sold yukata. I went in just planning to look at the deisgns, but the wonderful sales woman offered to help me to try one on! I loved it so much I went a head and bought it!

I was so excited I forgot to take a picture when I had it on, so here is a picture of the yukata, obi, and the beautiful accessory the shop lady recommended to me. It was my first time ever wearing a yukata.
I was really excited to be able to try on and buy a Yukata. I find traditional Japanese clothing very beautiful, and I love beautiful clothing! One of my hobbies is even collecting and making vintage and antique style clothing. I love to collect vintage American style clothing from the last century, and I'm learning how to sew historically accurate French and English style historical clothing. I really love clothing, I'm really interested in the way people express themselves through their clothing, and how and why clothing changes over time. They way people dress is such an intimate reflection of a person and their life and values, so by learning about clothing you can learn about the kind of people who wore it.
I'm very glad to be able to wear a yukata, especially this one. I think the pattern and colours suit my personality perfectly.
I hope I will have lots of opportunities to wear it this summer.
