Homemade Play Dough
As a child I loved play dough! You can make so many fun shapes or even letters. For homestay club I showed the kids how to make their own! It is very easy. You need a bowl, water, salt, flour and food coloring. That's it!

Here is the recipe:
2 cup plain flour
1 cup salt
1 cup water
Food Color
Direction:
1. Put all the ingredients into a bowl. In Japan I was able to find food color that was in powder form so I added in about half a tube to get a nice pink color.
2. Stir the ingredients together. Once the dough starts to come together it is time to get your hands dirty (or use plastic gloves like I did). You will have to knead the dough for 2-5 minutes to get it to a firm constancy. If the dough seems to wet make sure you add small amounts of flour.
3. Divided it up and play!
This recipe was enough for 5 kids to have a good size chunk, but it is very easy to double the recipe. I had the kids help measure out the flour and help me stir. If you keep the dough in an air tight container it should last up to 6 months.
Enjoy!
