Our duty towards kids.

This is my little friend Utkars in Khajuraho, India. He's 5 years old, goes to the so called English Medium School (instruction is all in English, in all subjects), and is a really good student. Like just about everybody I come across in India, the family is really poor on First World standards, or really rich, obscenely rich in other cases. But he's a happy child, and very lively, but in a good way, not just pushing and shoving, though there's always a little bit of that at his age, but a quick intelligence that is striking. It's amazing how some kids are very inquisitive, really curious about things around them, and try to understand. It's easy for parents to not really notice, thinking they're just chatterboxes. The world of children, open to new thoughts, new things if properly guided. It's our responsibility to help them, to make available to them the tools they need to learn and become strong, not just physically but mentally as well, I think. A heavy responsibility indeed.
