Town or country?
I've never really lived for any length of time in the country, just brief stays in different places. I've always thought of myself as a city person, but when I think about it, Buffalo where I was born and brought up wasn't such a big place really, about 500,000 people then, now down to 350,000 as the city slowly dies like so many industrial cities in the U.S. Anyway it was near enough to Lake Erie, even Lake Ontario, and lots of really beautiful countryside within easy driving distance from town. Then I've lived in Rome, Italy, and Vienna, as well as other places, and thought the big city was the place to be. I'm not so sure anymore. Places like Kanonji have their advantages. Life is more laid back, not so hectic, the people are friendly and helpful. I do miss the concerts though, and the opera, sometimes. But you can't have everything, can you?
