Differences
The picture is from Sendai, on the Hirose River, near the place I used to live in. It's kind of rough there, and though just a few meters away from the road, it's pretty wild, and you feel you're really out in the country, once you venture in. The river is for the most part kind of shallow, so not so good to swim in, but I found a nice secluded spot where the water was just deep enough to swim in. The current is so strong however that if I swam again the current I pretty much stayed in the same place. Kind of cool. I sometimes miss that place, and the friends there. I especially miss some of the kids in my classes there. They must have grown up a bit since then. Anyway, I was surprised when I first got to Shikcku how really different the people here are from up in Tohoku. It's nice to see the differences though. Isn't it great that we're not all the same, that everyone is a bit different from everybody else? Thank God for variety, I say. Don't you agree?
