Tranquilo Cafe
Yesterday was Stephanie's birthday. We went out to lunch at this AMAZING, FANTASTIC, AUTHENTIC Mexican restaurant in Shikokuchuo called Tranquilo Cafe.

I love Japan and I like most Japanese things, including most Japanese food. But sometimes it's difficult to find things that aren't Japanese. In America, we enjoy a great variety of cultures and foods, and it's not difficult to find a restaurant that serves food from anywhere in the world, or to find a grocery store that sells the ingredients you need to make ethnic foods from any country or culture. When I was a child, we made Mexican food at least once a week. Here in Japan, it's difficult, expensive, or sometimes nearly impossible to find good Mexican food, or the ingredients to make it ourselves, so we were very excited to find out about Tranquilo Cafe.
Tranquilo Cafe not only has great Mexican food, it also looks very Mexican on the inside, and they have real Mexican music playing, so I felt at once like I was back in Mexico. We ordered nachos and a quesadilla to share, I had the fish tacos and Stephanie had the beef tacos. Everything was really good and really Mexican, except the quesadilla was more Italian than Mexican, and the salad dressing had a Japanese wasabi flavor. We had a great time and we will definitely go back again.
