Every October 31st, children everywhere in America go trick-or-treating. You go up to a person's house and knock on the door. When they answer, you yell "Trick-or-treat!" This means that they better give you a treat, or else you'll play a trick on them! But they always give you a treat. Usually the treat is candy, but sometimes it can be other things.

Trick-or-treaters have to watch out for tricks too! When I was a kid, the teenage boys who lived next door would often hide in the bushes. When we came and knocked on their door, they would jump out of the bushes and yell "BOO!" We would scream in surprise, but it was pretty funny.

Many people decorate their yard with Halloween decorations. They're fun to look at as you go through the neighborhood!
