Today I wanted to briefly talk about finding appropriate clothing when one is quite a bit above average in terms of height and body shape. Disclaimer: I do prefer to buy clothing in person rather than order through an online retailer.

My difficulty in finding clothing did not suddenly begin when I moved to Japan. Before Japan, I lived in South Korea, and even in the foreign district of Seoul, I could not find socks or shoes that fit. This was never a huge problem back in America, because Big and Tall stores are not as scarce.

Now let's talk about the main point of this post! Right near my apartment - not even a ten minute walk - is a store that advertises itself as having clothing for bigger people, and they even have imported big sizes from America. Well I was out and about yesterday getting some lunch, I thought to myself "Hey, I've got some spare time. I wanna check out that big size clothing store. I've definitely need new socks " So off I went - and let me tell you, it was worth it! Not only did they have reasonable prices and good sales, they also have quite an impressive selection for a store that only a small subset of the population might visit. Given that the population of Takamatsu is not THAT large, it's honestly amazing it stays in business.

In the end, I bought three pairs of socks and two flannel shirts! I'm DEFINITELY going back there!
