Barbecued Skin?

On a Monday afternoon I didn't really feel like cooking, so I stopped by Family Mart for a quick meal. I thought some salad and yakitori would hit the spot so I grabbed a small container of corn salad and proceeded to order two sticks of yakitori. The cashier asked me, "Momo? Kawa?" I didn't know the difference so I said "Kawa please!" The cashier bagged everything up for me, I paid, and I was on my way back to my apartment. When I got home I was super hungry so I opened my kawa yakitori and took a big bite. It wasn't what I expected, it was chewier than I wanted it to be. That's when I learned kawa in Japanese means skin. Oh well, at least I know what not to get next time.
