I started seeing lots of paper Oni masks around the store, but I didn't know what they were for. Clearly there were far too many to just be random decorations. So I asked... I'm not sure how I missed out on the national 'throw legumes at demons' day last year, but I did.

It is a very unique tradition. I'm still trying to figure out why you eat your age in beans after pelting the Oni. That seems like something added in to discourage adults from taking part.

Let's be real, I want to dress up like an Oni, but I don't have classes on the third. Maybe next year it will fall on a class day.
