Behaviorism
For the past little while, well, I should actually say for the past 2 or so years I've been increasingly interested in the neuroscience, philosophy, psychology, and overall nature of the human brain/mind. As mentioned many times in the previous blogs, I'm more of a philosopher of mind more than anything, however I do tip my toes into the other areas of cognitive science which in particular are neuroscience, linguistics, anthropology, and psychology.
Which brings me into this next point. I have for the past month or so been reading old books from the mid 20th century that revolves around the field of psychology known as Behaviorism. It is a rather old system of psychology and is fairly dated by today's standards, however the main concept of it is quite interesting and I think some portions of it can be taken and introduced to the other cognitive sciences.
What about you? Have you heard about Behaviorism? If so, was it B.F. Skinner psychology Behaviorism? Or was it philosophical Behaviorism (also known as logical Behaviorism) i.e., Wittgenstein, Quine, etc.
