IOTD: "case in point"

CASE IN POINT

A case in point is an example that demonstrates a point being made as truthful or correct

EXAMPLES

This series of tragedies is a case in point: None of their post-mortem exams had revealed a definitive cause of death.

There's a real lack of science teachers. My son's school provides a case in point where an English teacher is now delivering science lessons.

HISTORY

The phrase "case in point" originates from the legal world, where "case" refers to a court case and "in point" means relevant to the current discussion, essentially signifying that a previous case serves as a good example for the current situation; the phrase likely emerged from the Anglo-Norman French phrase "en point" meaning "on point" or "precisely relevant
It primarily began as a legal term used in courtrooms to reference a previous case that could be used as a precedent for the current case being tried.
The first recorded use of "case in point" dates back to the mid-17th century.

Kochi…again!

I went back to Kochi again! I really love this city, the energy is amazing and the food is delicious! This time, I visited the beach! It was too cold to swim, but it was still gorgeous!
