Thailand has many floating markets for both locals and tourists. Many are centered close to the Bangkok area, but required and hour or two of driving outside the city.

One of the more popular tourist markets is called the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market – about a 2-hour drive from Bangkok. There are many tours that go there from agencies or hotels in Bangkok.

Once you board the local boat, you will float down various canals and stop to purchase whatever good the people are selling. You can buy food, souvenirs, clothes, and a variety of other items. You never even have to leave the boat!
It is an experience that all visitors to Thailand should experience!
